An E&P professional with over 25 years’ experience with Shell International. Has held senior executive positions as the Finance Director for Shell Middle East and as Finance Director for Shell in Africa. Worked in The Netherlands, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Dubai and Nigeria. Cees first came to work in Nigeria in 1994.
He possesses global expertise in finance, treasury, supply chain management, strategy, planning and risk management. Served nearly three years as MD/CEO of a Nigerian E&P company before joining FIRST E&P.
Defolu has over 15 years’ experience as a lawyer, holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Lagos and a Master of Laws Degree from the University College London. Defolu’s experience in a number of legal roles covers dispute resolution, corporate & commercial law and energy law whilst working as an Associate and Senior Associate at Aluko & Oyebode and as the Legal Counsel/Company Secretary of BG Nigeria (Nigerian branch of BG Group Plc, UK).
Defolu has worked in challenging environments like China and Nigeria and also worked in Singapore and the United Kingdom. His expertise is focused around upstream matters relating to Production Sharing Contracts, Joint Operating Agreements, Farm-In and Farm-Out Agreements, Drilling Services Agreement, Shareholders Agreement relating to LNG projects as well as Corporate Governance issues. He is an expert on anti-corruption matters in challenging environments and has a very good understanding of the UK Bribery Act, U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and Nigerian Anti-Corruption legislation.
Casper Kaars - Sijpesteijn
Executive Director Technical
An E&P professional with over 30 years’ experience in industry, primarily with Shell International, during which period Casper occupied several key roles including General Manager of Shell Companies in Colombia and Venezuela and General Manager Development for Shell in Nigeria. In the course of his long career, Casper has worked in several countries, including Brunei, The Netherlands, UK, Colombia, Venezuela, and in Nigeria. He has a wealth of industry experience and a track record in technical & operational delivery.
Darlington's Finance Management experience of over two decades cut across Downstream, Service, Power and the Upstream sectors of the Oil and Gas industry gained at Texaco Nigeria; Schlumberger Nigeria as Treasurer, and Divisional Controller, AES Corporation as Country Financial Controller; and until recently BG Nigeria.
His most recent career at BG Group in Nigeria commenced in 2006 as Chief Accountant, and in 2009 he accepted the role of Finance Manager at BG Group's significant North Sea portfolio based in Aberdeen Scotland, a position he held until his return to Nigeria in late 2011 for the position of Head, Finance and Information Technology.
Darlington has attended numerous courses locally and internationally, and had work assignments to Angola and England. Darlington is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with Finance specialization from the UNE Graduate School of Business, Armidale, Australia.
Emmanuel's Human Resources Management experience spans over 20 years in the Oil & Gas industry both in Nigeria and Brunei. His Human Resources knowledge covers Resourcing, Employee Relations and Recruitment.
He led the Shell Social Performance transformation agenda between 2004 – 2008.
A process that built community engagement structures to help minimize conflict and drive the sustainable development of host communities.
Emmanuel joined BG Nigeria in 2008 as Vice President Social Performance. He was responsible for the development and implementation of the social performance standards of the BG Group in Nigeria.
He was subsequently seconded to OKLNG as General Manager Sustainable Development and External Relations in 2010 where he had responsibility for community relations and the management of the planned resettlement programme working with international resettlement experts. Emmanuel has a broad experience in stakeholder engagement and management having worked with various host communities in the Niger Delta, governments at all levels and NGOs.
Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu Enu, FNAPE
Executive Director Exploration
As an E&P professional, Emmanuel has over 20 years experience as a Petroleum Geologist. Emmanuel joined Shell International in 1991, following a 12 year academic career as an associate professor of Geology. He held a number of senior executive positions ranging from Head of Geological services through to Deepwater Exploration Manager for Shell Nigeria (2004-2008). Emmanuel made significant contributions to Shell's groups reserves growth through successive discoveries - Bonga-1, Ngolo-1, Bonga SW-1, and Bonga-N amongst others. In 2008, Emmanuel joined BG Group as General Manager Exploration. He is known in industry circles as “Mr. Deepwater”. He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Association of Petroleum Explorationists and a recipient of the prestigious “ARET ADAMS AWARD” of the association.
As an E&P professional, Ademola has over 25 years of E&P professional experience in the Petroleum Industry. Prior to taking up the role of Managing Director and CEO of FIRST E&P, he had a 5 year stint with BG Group Plc, UK as President/Managing Director for BG Nigeria’s business interests.
He had previously spent some 20 years with Shell International, and before that had early working life with Ashland Oil Company. Over the years, Ademola has acquired deep knowledge and excellent understanding of various aspects of the oil and gas business in a variety of roles; Business Director of Shell’s Nigeria Joint Venture (SPDC JV) where he was responsible for the business growth and venture management functions of the company, VP New Business, Africa within Shell International E&P, responsible for portfolio growth in Africa as well as General & Asset Management and Chief Technical roles across a number of countries. He has a sound understanding of the Nigerian oil and gas business environment.
