For the second consecutive time, FIRST E&P has been recognized with the award of the ‘Independent or Indigenous Upstream Operating Company with the most impactful local content development initiatives executed in Nigeria’ at the 2023 edition of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair (NOGOF). The awards ceremony held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on the 18th of May 2023. The award was received on behalf of FIRST E&P by Mr. John Alamu, the company’s General Manager, Engineering & Capital Projects.
Powered by the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB), the Local Content driven awards evaluate projects executed by related organizations, using specific criteria to gauge contributions to the success of Local Content Development within the O&G sector as mandated by the Local Content Act of Nigeria, 2010.
According to the organizers, FIRST E&P was adjudged to be deserving of this award in view of the company’s laudable and impactful local content development initiatives in the areas of employment generation and spend, local and community content development (economic, commercial, organizational impact), Madu CSP fabrication, installation and commissioning project, originality and innovation, research and development, amongst others.

FIRST E&P first received this award at the 2021 edition of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair (NOGOF) for local content contributions delivered by the company’s Anyala production in OML83 project which achieved First Oil production in 2020. For that project, the company demonstrated its contributions to local content, with over 1500 tonnes of steel materials fabricated locally by Nigerian vendors with over 400,000 manhours utilised in the construction of the Conductor Supported Platform (CSP) for project.
FIRST E&P recognizes the support and leadership of the Executive Secretary and Management of NCDMB which has gone a long way in guiding the company to successfully deliver on building a Nigerian content centric approach to our operations.
