Ademola Adeyemi-Bero Receives Distinguished Industry Leaders’ Award at IPPG 10th Anniversary Dinner

The Managing Director / CEO of FIRST Exploration & Petroleum Company Limited, Mr Ademola Adeyemi-Bero has been honoured with the Distinguished Industry Leaders’ Award at the Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG) 10th anniversary celebration, held on Thursday, 18 December 2025. The award recognises his outstanding service to the industry in his current role as Nigeria’s Governor to OPEC and Chairman of the OPEC Board of Governors for 2025, as well as his continued contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
The award was presented by the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri during the anniversary dinner themed “Building on a Decade of Impact,” which brought together senior leaders and stakeholders from across Nigeria’s oil and gas sector to reflect on IPPG’s journey and contributions over the past ten years.
The recognition underscores the leadership of Mr. Adeyemi-Bero in the formative years of IPPG, where his vision and leadership helped establish the association as a strong, credible voice for indigenous Exploration and Production companies. His early efforts laid the groundwork for collaboration among local operators and set a governance framework that has sustained IPPG’s growth and relevance.
